This is the reason for renting a small car in Ireland. Many of the country roads are one lane with stone walls on either side, or like in this picture, a cliff for a guard rail.

I have read quite a bit about the Ring of Beara.... it is much less tourista than the Ring of Kerry and equally as beautiful, if not more so. BUT the roads are very narrow. We will not be taking the Healy Pass that I have read about numerous times, because it is much narrower than this road! How is this possible,I ask myself.
ReplyDeleteI have read that basically, the sheep view the Healy Pass as their personal pathway. Well all right then, the sheep can have it.
I told you that is why I thought we needed a dog in the back seat...we are going to be chugging along pretty slowly I think, especially when we meet another car coming our direction. Well, well, this should be a very interesting adventure...
